Coffee has become a big part of my life since having kids! Can all the mamas out there agree? Lord have mercy. I have never yearned for a cup more!
I have only ever used Keurig’s in my adult life. I moved into my college dorm room with a Keurig, bought a bigger one when I moved into my first condo, bought another when we moved into our first home that better went with the kitchen color scheme, and purchased one last one when we moved into our current home.
I couldn’t have a sand color coffee pot in an all-white kitchen, duh. Yes, I have spent a stupid amount of money on a coffee pot that I never truly LOVED the coffee it brewed!
We all have our fair share of dumb moments in life, right? Alrighty… moving right along LOL
Coffee is Not All the Same
Last December I decided that I was over the watered-down coffee that my Keurig was brewing. I was always attracted to the design and ease of a Keurig but something just wasn’t quite right.
The taste I wanted was never there. I tried countless varieties of coffee blends and nothing ever did the trick.
When your favorite place to get coffee is the RaceTrac gas station, something is not right LOL. Also, if you didn’t know, I HATE Starbucks coffee. Hate.
It’s always lukewarm and just flat-out terrible tasting. The only time you’ll see me at Starbucks is around the holidays because I can totally get down with an eggnog latte. Other than that, count me out.
I require piping hot coffee. Like burn your mouth and lose your taste hot. Which must be why I also can’t stand iced coffee…
Drinking iced coffee is like taking a sip out of the coffee you left on the bathroom counter two hours ago before reheating it for the fourth time. So gross!!
I’m sorta particular, can you tell?
Deciding on the Ninja Coffee Maker
After discussing the different options with Andrew, we took advantage of a Black Friday sale and purchased our beloved Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker. Y’allllllllll, so good!
This machine has the ability to brew six different sizes, a strong, classic & iced option, and my favorite feature — a fold away frother!
It was super simple to learn, even coming from someone who had never truly run a traditional coffee pot before.
I went to the store and bought several different bags of coffee and we started brewing different ones to try to find our new routine.
I knew the flavor I wanted. I wanted it to taste as the bag smells. That amazing, rich coffee bean smell. We went through 4 or 5 different brands and then one morning, I opened up the last one we got to sample, and in that moment, I knew it was the one!
This Seattle’s Best Post Alley Blend coffee was the winner! It was what I had been looking for for so long. That bold coffee flavor that didn’t “water down” when you added your creamer.
I like creamer in my coffee but I still want to taste the strong coffee flavor. This delivers!
I add in my Coffee-Mate Italian Sweet Cream creamer and it is seriously the best. I use the frother to mix it together and I feel like I’m drinking a specialty coffee from a cute little coffee chop in a fancy city 😉
I look forward to it EVERY morning.
I could be healthy and use a sugar-free almond milk pseudo creamer but I don’t like to start my mornings out mad LOL. This cup of coffee makes me happy and gives me life so that is what I will have!
