I just love holidays, don’t you? When I hear the word holiday, excitement fills my mind. Whether it be a birthday or a national holiday, I just love it!
I am always up for throwing a little celebration. Well, if you know me, my “little celebrations” are generally rather large.
I have been known to get carried away with some balloon garlands and streamers! If you’re invited over, even if it’s not a true holiday, there will most likely be a charcuterie board or, at the bare minimum, a few snacks displayed in various cute dishes along with some season-appropriate cocktail napkins out on the counter.
I can’t help it, I love any reason to celebrate — even if it is just enjoying the company of some good friends! More on that later…
Celebrating Memorial Day
I love getting to teach my girls about the reason we celebrate certain holidays, and always want to exaggerate the meaning of the holiday, whatever it may be.
Raising them to understand the importance of the holidays that aren’t centered around getting presents or dressing up. Today, we celebrate the men and women who have died fighting for our country.
These men and women are our true American heroes! My heart goes out to each and every family that has lost a loved one in active service.
I also want to say THANK YOU to everyone that is out there currently risking their lives fighting for our country. My prayers are with you and your families ALWAYS.
How We Celebrate
Today, we spent time by our newly completed pool. We’ve only been in it a handful of times!
The girls swam with their daddy and I lounged in a chair looking around at the sales. I’ve been looking for towels to have for ourselves and our guests and I found a killer deal at Target.
A major pet peeve of mine is about using bath towels at the pool. I don’t know why, I just hate it! I also hate when they use pool towels after a bath. One of my many odd quirks, ha!
Target has towels that are on sale for around $4/each and are super sweet and simple! You can find those HERE. May or may not have gotten one in every color 😉
Also, I couldn’t help but notice clothes for the family are all 20% off through tonight! So, I snagged a dress I’ve been eyeing for a couple of weeks for myself and I got the girls some Disney princess dresses to help me mourn the fact that we are 99% sure we won’t get to go on our already scheduled & planned out trip to the happiest place on earth this year.
Their dresses (you can see those HERE) were already on sale and the 20% worked on top of that! This was better than a Target Black Friday deal.
I was super underwhelmed with last year’s Black Friday sale but I guess their other sales throughout the year, like this one, make up for it.
I hope everyone had a great long weekend! Share your highlights below!
